Barbara McCarty
Media Specialist & Doctoral Student
Mrs. McCarty has been teaching at Timberlane Middle School since 1997. After teaching as a seventh grade language arts teacher for fourteen years, she moved into the Media Center to provide literacy, research and technology education as the media specialist since 2011. Mrs. McCarty is very involved in Timberlane Middle School’s extracurricular activities as Student Council advisor, Battle of the Books advisor and Makerspace coordinator. In the summer, she has been teaching at The College of New Jersey’s Summer Symposium for Academically Talented Timberlane School Students since 2012.
Mrs. McCarty earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary English Education from Temple University and a Master of Science degree in Library and Information Science from Clarion University. She is currently a doctoral student in New Jersey City University’s Doctor of Education in Educational Technology Leadership program.
Mrs. McCarty is married and has two children.
